ittsburgh emcee Chezeq Young is an artist that you should definitely pay attention to. His smooth, slow-flow style is as compelling as his words; his concepts are hearty and substantial. Young’s first song and video “Shorty’s Life” from his forthcoming album Dorm Room Music is an inspiring track that encourages today’s youth to persevere through whatever life throws at you. This autobiographical track is filled with positivity, enthusiasm and the will to succeed no matter the odds.
There are a few things that could make the song/track even more effective. The Seals and Croft sample could use some heavier drums to counteract the highs of the guitar. The video’s directors, Innovative Studios, could have developed a better visual storyline to accompany the stalwart message that the song delivers. Overall this is a great song that features a premiere up and coming emcee that is destine for a successful career in the music industry. I just wish more would have been put into developing the visuals.
