If 90’s style Hip-Hop/Rap is your style, check out the vid for Uni-G’s song “Go Get It.” Its old school, colorful, and carries a positive message. For an eye-catching experience, look no further than this dope video.
The vid opens with scenes from movies such as “Dead Poet’s Society,” “Stand and Deliver,” and “The Pursuit of Happyness.” It immediately catches your attention. This hints at what is to come– the message that you must seize the day and make your dreams come true, no matter what obstacles stand in your way. Then the vid segues into scenes reminiscent of the opening theme song for the “Fresh Prince of Bel Air”– spray-painted graffiti filled walls, skateboarders and break-dancers out in the park, and retro fashion. This is fitting, since the beat of the song is a retro early 90’s throwback jam. The rapping on the track is tight and on-point, with a catchy chorus– “And the crowd goes/Go get it…” The sound of the crowd cheering in the background and the words “go get it” repeated in a microphone type echo is effective and memorable. And the message of the song is very positive too, which adds to the overall mantra of the song– if you want something bad enough, go make it happen.
I really enjoyed this video, with the colorful graffiti and interesting visuals of people hanging out at the park. The retro vibe of the music coupled with the candy-colored 90’s visuals brought me back to the good old days of that era. The rhyme and flow of the lyrics are flawless, and the audio complements the visual perfectly. Give this vid a look– you won’t be disappointed!
