The Bolts debut album Wait ‘til We’re Young displays all the gritty emotions of love that women identify with, but think that men ignore. The Bolts are a five member band from California displaying an amazing variety of music that is sure to make you an instant fan no matter what your music preference is. This band uses their vocal expertise to express all the anxiety and confusion that comes with being in love or just being yourself.
The band has the ability to become one vocally in their music and then pleasantly shock you with their individual vocal prowess. Their vocal expression is fluid and natural, but can quickly become strong and expressive. It is easy to identify with The Bolts and their rhythmic music paints vivid imagery. As with any album some songs stand out more than others. “Tell Me” has a breezy and catchy tune with exciting vocals that has you nodding your head. The clever lyrics easily pull at your heart strings. “Walk Away” has strong expressive rock vocals complimented with amazing instrumental. Both songs have an overall good impact that the album could not do without.
There are numerous outstanding qualities that The Bolts possess, but their ability to touch one’s soul through music is one of a kind! Songs like “Taking On The Night” and “Wait ‘til We’re Young” really express the genuine feeling the band members put into their music making them an overall memorable group. They shine so brightly and leave no room for shadows of doubt as to their talent. The only thing I would take note of is the harmony in “Caving In” between the vocals and instrumentals which leaves something to be desired. I’d say The Bolts are definitely doing something right and the album Wait ‘til We’re Young walks away with a standing ovation and maybe even an anchor performance.
