Mo Lowda& The Humble
Time flies when you’re having fun! It’s been six years since we first turned the lights on here at Amped Sounds. We’ve listened to countless hours of music, consumed copious amounts of caffeine while watching thousands of videos, connected with scores upon scores of artists, and have been your source for emerging independent music. There’s always a select group of artists hidden within the cascading flow of submissions that we receive that stand out among the crowd and we always pay homage to them. So without further ado, I present to you five artists that will have the summer on lock by having the greatest impact on independent music this year:
Adrien Austin is one of the best independent R&B vocalists that we’ve seen this year. His amazing voice is captivating and full of life. He dropped a bevy of ill cover tracks/videos to include a phenomenal remix of Justin Beiber’s “Heartbreaker”. Austin’s version destroys the original while creating a new soulful sound of its own. Mo Lowda and the Humble
Mo Lowda and the Humble continues to be a staple here at Amped Sounds. They consistently release quality music for the masses. Their knack for fusing multiple genres together (Rock, Soul, and Pop to name a few) reminds me of Hall and Oates in their prime. The comparison is evident on their latest release Curse The Weather. Their picturesque lyrics, lush vocals and stalwart instrumentation have helped to create memorable moments in time. Get your hands on Curse the Weather on their Bandcamp page. You’ll be happy you did!
Scarlet Baxter is an amazing talent. Her superior vocals, towering songwriting skills and expertise for picking solid production has her music charting all over the web. We introduced the London-based vocalist to the Amped Sounds family on Episode 2.5 of Live in the Lab and we’ve been tuning in to her music ever since. Baxter’s latest record, “Down With It”, has emerged as a fan favorite and is in heavy rotation on Soundcloud. Philippe Prosper could clearly be described as your favorite rapper’s worst nightmare. Armed with an arsenal of punchlines, the D.C. based emcee is the unstoppable force and the immovable object all in one. The one thing that really draws me to Prosper’s music is that he is not afraid to attack controversial subjects head on both on and off the microphone. His jaw-dropping video “Stereotyping” received loads of support when it was first featured in Amped Sounds and continues to draw views today. He’s definitely an artist that will make a lot of noise this year. Follow Philippe Prosper on Twitter to get up to the date news and more.
There are not enough words to describe Shenna and the attributes that she brings to music. She sings, models, acts and takes time out of her busy schedule to mentor other musicians about the business of music. The Pop artist recently released Dream in Color, a magnificent opus that displays her adept writing skills alongside her awesomely spellbinding voice. We introduced you to Shenna on Episode 2 of Live in the Lab where her album received rave reviews. She is about to take the Pop scene by storm so get yourself ready. Check her out on her official site for more infor on this talented artist. You can thank me later.
