Sean Breed – Yes2Day
Content simply just blends in with current artists
NYC Hip-Hop artist Sean Breed is bursting on the scene with a hot new vid for “Yes2Day.” Directed by Puma, it is an interesting video that has a lot going on visually. Although it brings nothing new at all to the genre, it still features a good song and attention-grabbing scenes. I just wish there was a little more uniqueness and innovation.
Sean Breed is a talented rapper, with a deep throaty voice that is pleasing to the ear. The song has a catchy beat also, which is nice. We see countless scenes of Breed walking through the city streets, with ice cream trucks passing by, kids playing in the street, murals and graffiti painted on city buildings, and guys standing around sporting tats and do-rags. This all has been done before time and time again, and really doesn’t bring anything new and exciting to the table. But the scenes still are interesting and keep your attention despite this. And Breed’s lyrics are captivating also– he raps about hustling to keep the lights and heat from turning off and the food from running out. Again, this is a common theme in Hip Hop music, but Breed raps with heart and you know he is really feeling what he says. So even though the song material and the visuals lack creativity, it is still worthwhile to check out.
Sean Breed is a talented Rap artist, and this shines through on his song “Yes2Day.” The video is well put together and entertaining. I was just disappointed that there wasn’t something more there to set both the song and vid apart from countless other similar ones. Breed needs to set himself apart from the herd in order to get ahead of it. If “Yes2Day” is any indicator, he is well on his way!
