Jack Nine Films
The Revolution will be Televised
Philly Hip Hop artist Revolution has great Rap skills, as heard on his song “King.” The video could be better, but the great beat and rhymes make up for it. Honestly, I became a bit bored looking at this video. It simply was not eye-catching. Despite that misstep, I still enjoyed the song immensely
There’s a level of expectancy that comes when opening credits appear in the beginning of a video. When I read that this was “A Jack Nine Film” during the opening scenes I thought I would be in for a great visual experience. Instead I was let down because the video didn’t live up to the previewing hype. My expectations were higher than they should have been. The shot selection was stagnant. All we see is shots of Revolution standing on the city streets during the day and night. That’s it. There’s nothing else. It gets old fast. But the song, the song is what saves the whole affair. Revolution obviously has the chops and this record could easily be at the top of the Rap charts. I just wish more went on in the vid to keep my attention.
Revolution and Jack Nine should rework this video and give the song a visual experience that matches the tempo and intensity of the music. Once they make that connection I’m sure that the revamped video will garner more views than the current version of the video has. Check it out and let us know what you think!
