Reviews: Grenouer
Grenouer is a Hard Rock/Metal band from St. Petersburg, Russia that produces songs with great melodies and classic Rock composition. The music is catchy, dark, emotional, and gritty. The music grabs your attention, and doesn’t easily let go.
“Last Stop” is a good, Hard Rock song with blazing guitars and a nice melody. It’s the type of song that would do very well on the rock charts, due to the fact that it packs a brutal punch but isn’t so over the top in that it can’t go mainstream. It’s catchy and very radio-friendly. The guitars and drums are phenomenal on this track, and the band’s lead singer Ind’s vocals are good. The only slightly negative aspect of his vocals are the fact that his accent makes it difficult at times to make out what he is saying, and his voice sounds a little drowned out by the backing instrumentation. But the accent is minor enough that it doesn’t take too much away from the effect of the lyrics, and most of what he sings is clear to the listener. “Patience” is a slower, darker track with a slight industrial tinge to it. It starts out with an electronic drum machine, and then segues into a catchy melody that is radio-friendly and showcases raw talent. The guitar playing is great, and the vocals are strong. Ind sings in a lower range and his voice is front and center– not overpowered by the guitars and drums. His voice pulls the listener in, and in the chorus he incorporates industrial elements by distorting some of the lyrics in a robotic format. All of these elements work well together, creating a solid and entertaining Rock song.
Grenouer is a band that understands the key elements that make up great Rock songs. Although the lead singer’s accent can make some of the lyrics hard to understand, the awesome guitars and haunting melodies make up for it. Grenouer produces solid songs that could easily burn up the Hard Rock music charts, and the band has the potential to become well known globally.
