“Mixed Feelings” is a slower song by Samuel that has a dark tone and emotional lyrics. The tune is reminiscent of “Unbreak My Heart,” and Samuel’s deeper tone of voice is showcased. Her voice is smooth, silky, and on the lower side– similar to other young singers such as Monica. She has good range, and sings with emotional. The vulnerable tremble in her voice expresses the feeling and emotion of the lyrics in this song and draws the listener in. “All Night” is a lighter offering by Samuel. It has a faster, more upbeat tempo and a pop vibe. Its fun and girlie– she sings about going out dancing all night on a Friday, leaving all her cares behind. Samuel then goes back to her Caribbean roots with “Still Standing,” an upbeat song with an island feel to it. Its an empowerment song, with Samuel singing about staying strong no matter what haters do or say about her. Samuel’s voice is strong and powerful on the track, and she hits all the high notes. Her backup vocalists are excellent, the tune laid back, and the beat gets you moving.
