What’s good, good people? It’s Tuesday and we got what you need to start the day off with a bang. Raw Collective just dropped so serious heat with their new audio and visuals for their new release “From These Seeds”. We got our first taste of New Zealand’s finest when they dropped the critically acclaimed single, “Coins” almost a year ago and FTS picks up right where Raw Collective left off; heart-stopping beats and visionary rhymes for your mental.
Raw Collective is on some bananas shit with this record. Everything from the sampled sitar, to the West Coast Adina Howard-esque synth rhythm on the hook, to the ground-pounding kick/snare combo oozes the essence of Hip-Hop. The visuals are just as dope as the music. They bring out the best of the record by putting a lot of emphasis on what appears to be a minimal and miniscule look. For instance, Raw Collective uses just the right amount of lighting, or should I say shadowing, to bring out the tone and emotion of the eerie strings and horns. The editing was pretty slick too. A video cube serves as the centerpiece while almost mirroring shots bang out in unison. This video proves that you can make a great impact with your visuals no matter how small your budget is.
Get your week started off right by peeping this hot new video. Be sure to keep up with Raw Collective on Facebook. You can thank me later.
