It's New Music Monday! We've got the latest video from Bobby Thompson to get you through the day!
Bobby Thompson – Down to Here
Bobby Thompson’s video for his latest song “Down to Here” is a simple yet interesting visual ride that leaves you wanting more from this talented artist. Directors Eric Branco and Paul Carillo kept it short and sweet, without any fancy story lines or special effects. But all of that extra stuff is not needed to enjoy the video. The vid starts out with Thompson playing in a darkened room, showcasing his great guitar skills and pleasant singing voice. The song is catchy and pulls you in from the start. We then see scenes of the city streets, with a piece of paper blowing in the wind. Then there are the typical scenes of Thompson strumming his guitar and writing down lyrics in his apartment. Although these visuals bring nothing new and have been seen many times in other music videos, it’s the music that keeps your interest. Then Thompson walks down the streets, passing by the subway as we continue to see the piece of paper blowing down the street. Thompson then proceeds to blow us away with his sick guitar skills as he plays atop a rooftop. Then finally we learn what the piece of paper is all about- at the end Thompson walks through a puddle and steps on the piece of paper, where we can see the sheet music and the words “Down to Here” written at the top. Bobby Thompson obviously is a talented performer/songwriter, and this particular song I really enjoyed. His voice is good and his guitar playing is on point. The visuals aren’t anything we haven’t seen before, but the music makes up for it and the sheet music blowing across the streets of the city was interesting enough to save the video from being too boring. I look forward to seeing and hearing more from this talented artist! Connect:
