New Jersey Rock band Leeds has released a solid EP with a throwback, classic rock vibe and loads of talent. These guys are the real deal, with good songs that will stick in your head.
“Too Late to Turn Back” is a song with great guitars and nice vocals. Its catchy, with skillful instrumentation and great harmonizing to back up the lead singer. “Get Myself Back Home” starts off with an interesting intro– it almost sounds like music to an old western. Then the song picks up with thrashing guitars , and upbeat rhythm, and pounding drums. It sounds a lot like the first song, but its still an enjoyable tune with its own unique features to set it apart. It has that classic rock feel to it again with an almost 80’s Cars-like vibe, and the band’s joy in making music is infectious. “Wine, Women, and Song” has a harder feel to it, with loud guitars and heavy drums. This song has more of a 90’s feel to it, which is different from the other two songs. Its upbeat– something you can dance to– and fun. But again, it does sound similar to the other songs, which is something this band should watch out for.
Leeds is a great band with songs that are fun, enjoyable to listen to, and almost retro in their sound. Its obvious that the band members are talented musicians, and know how to write great Rock songs. The one thing they need to be careful of it having the songs sound too much alike. If they are diligent and avoid this from happening, then this band will be on their way to a successful career!
