f you’re in search of fresh new Progressive Rock sounds, look no further than Ukrainian keyboardist Sergey Rybytsky. This skilled composer molds and transforms sounds that may naturally clash into exciting cosmogonic compositions that electrify speakers with intense pulses of rapid-fire musical bliss. Using a combination of a variety of genres (Progressive Rock, Classical, and New Age to name a few) Rybytsky’s latest body of work, New Vista, makes music that challenges the listener to diversify his/her musical portfolio.
New Vista is a five-track EP that showcases the adroit craftsmanship that Rybytsky breathes into each track. Various styles are presented on the EP, such as the Metal/Synth laced “Deliverance”. Staggering guitar wails electrify the track as booming drums race well above 100bpm, delivering an onslaught of heart pounding musical stimulation that one may wish would never end. The EP’s title track displays all of the great elements of Progressive Rock of the 80’s: blazing guitars, synthesized keyboard strokes and a wickedly feel-good melody. The song’s transitional sequences are similar to those of bands like Queen and Dixie’s Midnight Runners, for the transitions are smooth and give the track a vibrant new feel without straying too far away from the original concept. New Vista’s other contributions are equally as entertaining; however, the two aforementioned tracks are mainstays and will be easily remembered.
