est Coast All-Star emcee Rael J Wallace always brings the heat when he steps to the mic. The hard working, blue collar emcee recently dropped RaelBlz, a collaborative album with producer GODleeBarnes and fellow emcee BamCirca 86. Collectively, they have brought forth their own brand of Hip-Hop which revisits the essence of being an MC; moving the crowd.
RaelBlz is ten tracks of speaker bursting, hard-hitting, electrifying emceeing. The group’s ability to flip words is almost like listening to Cirque Del Soleil (if that is possible); punch lines summersault through the air into your ears with precision, quenching the thirst of the inner lyricist in all of us. This is evident on the album’s title track “RaelBlz”. Words travel well above 92bpm on the track and remain on point. Wallace shows his depth as he describes what the world would be like on “ifiruledtheWorld”. Wallace drops these nuggets of wisdom:
Cause when we walk around pissed about life/ They try to pass a bill that will take away rights/ And that aint right/ So I puff-pass the peace pipe blaze and give my third eye sight/ Like what I need eyes to see for? / My Mind’s omnipresent and I’m deeper than a sea floor/ I want more but I know I need less/ I’m as broke as a joke and I can’t afford stress
The only downside of the track is the repetitive nature of the hook towards the end of the song. “RoseGold” is another tight song that is a treat for your ears. You have to really pay attention to appreciate the value of the track. I’m not going to spoil it for you, you can listen for yourself.
RaelBlz is a classic underground album that most “true” Hip-Hop heads will enjoy. However, mainstream listeners may be left scratching their heads. The album stays true to the art of emceeing, and will continue to move crowds in droves. Experience RaelBlz first-hand by purchasing it now. You’ll be glad that you did.
