I just finished watching “So You Think You Can Dance”, not the television show, but the latest video from Techno/Electronic artist Mielly Mee. It’s a cool record with intriguing visuals that will keep you well entertained while viewing. Here’s my official $.02…
The Good: This song is very catchy. The beat is really nice and there’s just enough vocals injected in the song to keep the instrumentation from becoming stale. This is a clear-cut club anthem that will keep people rushing to the dance floor the minute they hear the opening instruments. The visuals provided by Alex Parfilo are on point and correlates almost flawlessly with the music. The special effects were well placed and added to the excitement of this solid piece. On top of all that, the dance moves were pretty slick. The choreography was solid and well executed.
The Bad: There wasn’t anything particularly bad about the video, but I do want to know what was up with the boxing gloves? C’mon son! And what was up with that dancing masked monster? He seemed to be out of place. Mielly hit us up with a comment and let us all know.
Overall: I really enjoyed this video. The music and the visuals complimented each other well. And I can’t front, I have been saying “Give me the solo” at least once an hour since I watched the video. I think that the 100k+ viewers that have seen this video would agree that this is a potential dance club hit that has the potential of going global very quickly. Great work Mielly! That’s my $.02… What’s yours?
