Happy 2015 Good People. There’s no better way to start off a new year, than with new music
We’ve got the latest New Zealand Hip-Hop band Raw Collective. Their latest single “Coins” is bananas!
We got UK Alternative Rockers Jingo bringing their own flavor of Alternative Rock on their new LP.
We’ve got one of the hottest spitters from Saint Martin. I’m talking about my man Solano. We’ll be checking out his latest single.
And We’ll be checking out the hot new single from Bostonian Pop artist Lili-N.
But first, let’s check out one of Winnepeg’s premiere Neo-Soul bands. I’m talking about Jupiter Storm Baby! Here’s Jupiter Storm with Quantum Cerebellum, Live in the Lab.
Live in the Lab, reviewing all genres, all independent, all the time that was Jupiter Storm with their single “Quantum Cerebellum”.
You smell that? You smell that? That’s that funk oozing from this track! This …song…is…ridiculous! It’s flawless. Everything about it from the sequencing, to the mixing to Carlen Jupiter’s soulful voice is amazing. Those opening bass riffs? Man they set the tone for the magic that follows. What impressed me most was the seamless amalgamation of funk, soul, and latin vibes. Jupiter Storm compiles all of these elements flawlessly to give you one of the best songs of the new year.
I give this single 5 stars. This is artistry in its purest form; created, composed and sequenced to perfection. You’ve got to get your hands on this! Head over to their Bandcamp page, jupiter42.bandcamp.com and get your copy. Name your price and show your support for this super talented band.

Live in the Lab, One Man Gang. Bringing you amazing music from amazing artists. This is Jingo with “Blue Wail” on Amped Sounds dot Com
Live in the Lab, One Man Gang, Reviewing all music, all independent, all the time. That was Jingo with Blue Wail from their current release, The Art of Loving.
When you have musicians like Joe Reeves, Jack Buckett and Chris Smith collaborating with a vocal powerhouse like Katie Buckett you get a timeless wonder that will play on for years to come.
I love how they put it all together. I give The Art of Loving, a solid 4 stars. Now you may be saying to yourself, What? Why only 4 stars? The answer is pretty clear. While they are definitely a 5 star caliber group with a tremendous amount of talent, their material could use a splash of variety. The Beatles were able to cement their legendary status by expanding their music and diversifying their content and I can see the same for Jingo should they choose to do the same. Yeah, they’re that good.

Now that’s what I’m talking bout! That’s how you’re supposed to rock! They have it all going on, the live band, the background singers, and the emcee. They’re moving crowds in their native New Zealand and beyond with their head-nodding, soulful brand of Hip-Hop.
Coins has that Premo/Dilla feel. It’s entrenched in soulful jazzy samples, phat drum loops and kinetic horns that ooze awesomeness. The warmth of the opening strings and record static set the tone for the onslaught of good vibes that follows.
Overall I give this jawn a 4. I’m feelin the delivery and organic nature of this record. However, I know the masses will be quick to incorporate the comparisons to The Roots, which isn’t a fair comparison in itself. They are two totally different types of groups who happen to use the same tools to create music. And comparisons aside, they are dope in their own right. You need to check these guys out. Not now, but right now! Get this and past releases on their Soundcloud page, soundcloud[dot]com slash raw dash collective.

Live in the Lab reviewing all genres, all independent, all the time this is Solano with “Complexxx” on Amped Sounds dot Com
You’re tuned in to Live in the Lab that was Solano with Complexxx on Amped Sounds dot Com.
Yooo! I’m definitely feeling this guy’s music! This song had me hooked from the start. You can’t go wrong by jacking Raekwon’s instrumental, then he added synthetic substitution to the mix which made this jawn FIYAH!
But this track isn’t just all beat. Solano, being the veteran emcee that he is drops some impressive eyebrow raising bars. He intertwines his Saint Martin swag with his prolific verbal skills, delivering a powerful record with tons of mainstream potential.
Overall I give this song 3.5 stars. This kid has skills and deliberately killed the beat. I wish I would have heard more of the conscious riddims that Solano is more known for, but I understand that as an emcee, sometimes you have to flex your verbal muscles to let fans and peers know that you can throw down if need be. Get your hands on this song by heading over to Solano’s Soundcloud page, soundcloud [dot] com [slash] solano [underscore] raplife.
