What’s good, good people? We’re gonna get your week started off right with the jazzy sounds of Lee-Anne Fortuin. Her awesome record “Weak Woman” and its accompanying video are making its way throughout the blogosphere and have heads nodding while enjoying an airtight visual experience.
Bottom line up front, you need to get familiar with Lee-Anne’s music real quick because this girl is going places, no doubt. She has a unique sound that’s not too strong yet not too sweet…Word to Goldilocks, it’s just right for the ears and the soul. The Cape Town native blends elements of Jazz and Reggae with the melodic flow of her culture and the result is pretty amazing. Lee-Anne’s voice is impressive; she brings out the best of the music while operating with precision within her vocal boundaries. I thoroughly enjoyed the video as well. It reminded me of how performance based music videos used to be; a full cast with multiple scenes and lots of movement. There’s plenty of eye-candy to look at on both sides of the coin to keep your attention. My only knock on the visuals was color and lighting. The video as a whole was very, very yellow which was a turn off. The shadowing in some of the scenes was off as well. But shortcomings aside, this was a good looking video and well worth the 3:36 that I spent watching it.
