Cheap sounding background music in some songs

Jamilia Hall is a Hip Hop/ R&B/Soul/Rock artist from Port Saint Lucie who is bringing the Florida heat to burn up the charts with her new EP The Begining! With hot beats and a powerful singing voice, Hall is ready to show the world what she has to offer!
“Stop Loving” is a solid R&B song with a catchy beat. Hall has a nice singing voice that commands attention, but on this particular song she is slightly off-key in the chorus. However, it’s barely noticeable and doesn’t take away from the catchiness of the song. The back-up singers are very good, and the lyrics are easy to remember and to relate to. It’s a very radio-friendly song that would do well on the charts. “Hands” is a funkier offering from Hall, with an almost island feel to it. Again, Hall’s voice is strong and arresting; the wah-wah guitars and funky vibe perfectly complementing her vocals. She is able to hit the high notes effortlessly and the rock guitar riffs towards the end of the song give the track some edge. This song is as catchy as the first one, maybe even more so. Hall then collaborates with rapper Devaughn Christopher on the song “ME.” The beat is hot, although it does sound a bit cheap and tries too much to sound “hard”. But despite this, the song is good to listen to, its gets your head bobbing and your body ready to dance. Hall sings about how it’s all about her– the chorus sings “All about me, me, me….” It’s catchy, sassy, and stays in your head. Christopher comes in with his on point skills, bringing more heat to the song. The only complaint is that you blink and you miss him– his part of the song is over way too fast!
Jamilia Hall is well on her way to success. She has a good voice and a good sense of what makes a song hot. She does need a little bit of polish and finesse to reach her full potential, but she is almost there. She just needs to work on getting a little better quality sounding music to go along with her great vocals and interesting lyrics. Once every aspect of the music is on the same level, there is so stopping Jamilia Hall!
