Sisters Sarah and Stephanie Snyder bring the hard rock sound with their band Deer Park Avenue. Crunchy guitars, angst fueled lyrics, and punk/pop melodies are the perfect combination to create a catchy song about young love. “Hey Maria” captures the feeling of falling in love for the first time and not having the experience to recognize red flags in a relationship. The vid perfectly goes along with the lyrics of the song.
The high school theme may seem a little stale in this video, but it works with the story line of the song. The Snyder sisters sing about a boyfriend that seems perfect at first glance, but may not be the prince that he seems to be. The scenes of the boyfriend talking to other girls convey this theme. It’s also good that scenes with the band playing their song are mixed throughout the video because watchers can actually see what the band members look like. Director Rajan Patel and producer Diliana Deltcheva did a good job with matching up the events of the video with what is being said in the song, and with the actors cast. Take a look and see for yourself how well the visuals go along with the audio…..
