Florida Rap group Gutta Twins is bursting on the scene with the new vid for “All I Know.” With a Dirty South sound, the song is hard, real, and has a stroke of instrumental genius with such a hot beat. Although the scenes in the vid are nothing new and exciting, it still captures attention and interest and the song stays in your head.
Director Boomer Brown gets things rolling with scenes of people in the neighborhood riding around on four wheelers and motorcycles, and grilling in yards clad in wife beaters while women lurk in the background dressed in classic video vixen attire. Typical and so played out. We see the Gutta Twins rapping on top of the roof of a house and in front of expensive and tricked out cars– seen countless times in other Rap videos. But the song is good; their rap skills are on point and the beat is solid. But again we are taken down very familiar territory– the lyrics are all about the same old themes… being up in the club, doing whatever they want, and rhyming about “hoes and “niggas.” But despite this, the rap group stays true to their roots. Throughout the video we can see references to Florida and Broward County. For example people in the scenes are wearing “Straight Outta Broward” T-shirts. The lyrics also stick to this the end– they rap about staying true to themselves and doing “me,” because that is “all I know”.
Gutta Twins are talented rappers with a song with a banging beat that showcases their skills. The visuals in the vid are interesting, but are also recycled from many other Rap videos. The vid would work better with more unique concepts, but despite this I still liked it. Do you agree? If not, let me know what you think.
