We’ve got some fresh beats for you courtesy of Newquay (UK) producer Flight of the Emu. His latest beat collective, Elm Park Lane, is a dope assemblage of Dubstep, Ambient, Techno and Breakbeat cuts that will make you want to break out the Cyalume lights and rock out.
The Emu shines brightest when creating fast-paced Breakbeat melodies; for those tracks make it almost impossible to stay still while listening to. Break loops and 808 kicks take the lead as drum sequences intertwine with a slew of voice samples, scratches and synthesized instrumentation all while traveling at 95+ BPM. In contrast, his Ambient songs need work. The tracks are lethargic at best and lack that intriguing factor to draw you in. However, he does rebound with really nice Techno and House cuts that are almost guaranteed to get the party started.
Flight of the Emu’s Elm Park Lane is a decent composition whose bright spots outshine the missteps. Its infectious vibes will get you off the wall and onto the dance floor as well as push you through that last quarter mile on the treadmill. Check it out, share and enjoy!
