Florida Christian/Gospel/Christian Rap artist Corey Mills has released a decent new track “He’s Shedding Light.” It has a hard Rap sound, and Mills has good rhyming skills. But the song sounds like countless other Rap songs, and his positive message about the Lord is hard to make out through the booming beat.
On He’s Shedding Light, Mills’ lyrics are focused on the creator and how he was saved by His grace. It’s an admirable subject but Mills vocals are hard to make out amidst the instrumentation that accompanies. The musical sound of the song was completely unoriginal. The beat sounds identical to plenty of other records that are traversing the musicsphere. There is no doubt that Mills has skills, however, Mills should pick beats or work with producers who can bring out the best of his music and vice-versa. So those things need to be worked on a little more to bring the song up to par.
Corey Mills is a decent Christian Rap artist, no doubt. His intentions are good, but he needs work on the execution. More clear enunciation with the lyrics and better production would make it easier to make out the positive lyrics. And more creative and unique music would bring freshness to his songs. With some of these improvements, Mills would be well on his way to making a lot of noise in the industry!
