Bluestaar and Uncle O
Sounds too much like many records in the industry
Persistence Pays Off
Houston rapper Chris Landry is all about the grind on his latest “7 Days a Week” from his upcoming release This or Nothin. It’s a good record with a motivational mantra; working hard and making consistent strides to fulfill your dreams. Landry is betting big on himself creating a song and video that can easily fit in many rotations.
After sitting with the track for some time I can hear and see its potential. Sonically it fits right in with the current status quo. That in itself is a gift and a curse. The rhythm will make you nod your head, but it is all so similar to almost every song out there. It uses the same kick, snare, and chord combination as plenty of other well-known records. But what makes it good is the song has a seriously infectious hook.
The visuals (provided by Bluestaar and Uncle O) complement the audio almost flawlessly. The lighting was spot on and the pacing was right where it needed to be. There is a funny exchange between Landry and his employer that will have you cracking up.
This was a cool video. It was enjoyable to watch and I’m sure you’re going to like it too. So go ahead and kick back, press play, and enjoy the show.
