Ontario, Canada based composer Brando Alders is coming out with a great new EP, “Fading Away.” He creates very interesting and catchy tunes, with memorable beats and good Techno/Pop arrangements. It’s evident he is a talented musician, and has a lot to offer.
On “Procrastinate,” Alders creates a dark record that is reminiscent of a Depeche Mode. Despite the “dark” feel to it, it’s an expertly crafted Techno/Pop song that sticks in your head. Alders has a decent voice– not great, but it works fine for this type of music. All the components come together to create a likeable song. “Future World” has a nice beat, with a memorable tune. It has no lyrics, but words are not needed. It’s a great composition, and one can picture it in a movie or blasting in a women’s fashion store in the mall. It has a certain freshness to it. “Lakes of Burden” is a slower song with a dreamy feel, and includes unique elements such as the sound of a man laughing in the background. Alder’s weak voice doesn’t work as well on this slower tempo as it does on the faster songs. This particular song goes on for a bit too long. If the song was shorter, this may help to lessen the dreariness of it, and the listener may not become quite as uninterested with it.
Brando Alders is a great composer of Electronica/Pop music with a talent for interesting arrangements and catchy beats. He has an ear for compositions that are on point, whether it be a song with or without lyrics. His weak spots seem to be in his vocals, and with slower-tempo records. If he can work on his voice, and on shortening his slower songs, then there would be nothing to hold him back. His songs are catchy, interesting, and hard to forget. This talented musician has a bright future ahead of him!
