Dria E is a Rap artist hailing from Tennessee who is busting on the scene with hot beats and blazing rhymes. Her songs start out strong, with catchy tunes that make you want to get up and dance, then the songs take an ill-faded turn. The vocals and recording quality have been apparently neglected. However, with some hard work and a better sense of direction, Dria E can become the newest Nicki Minaj. If she is willing to put in the time, the lyrics and execution of the music will match up with the stellar beats.

On “Invincible,” the track features the Pat Benetar song of the same name, with sped up lyrics and the precedent for the hot beat. But this is the only redeeming quality of the track. When Dria comes in with her rhymes, the song quickly goes downhill. While her flow is good and her talent is obvious, the quality of the recording is not ideal. It sounds as though her voice is dubbed in–indicating that the vocals were put together with very poor quality recording equipment.  It all sounds cheap and tinny, and Dria is almost shouting her lyrics in a robotic, monotone manner.   The sound is lackluster; leaving room for the listener to easily lose interest.  Similar to this track is the song “Dis Da Jungle.”  Again, the beat is catchy and memorable.  But this is overshadowed by the cheaply dubbed in vocals, where Dria is doing more shouting than rapping and sounds tired and bored. A step up for the rapper is her newest single “Hunned Ones.”  The beat is hot and gets your head bobbing, and Dria’s vocals have a nice flow.  Her rhyming is tight and concise without the cacophonous shouting heard in her previously mentioned tracks. But she may be a bit too subdued– her voice is drowned out at times by the blazing, thumping beat which makes it hard to hear what she is rapping about. Despite this, the song is a big step in the right direction.

Dria E is an artist with a good sense of what makes up a good club track she can compose rap songs with banging beats and good lyrics to go along with them. What she seems to be missing is execution. Poor recording and vocal quality are her biggest downfalls.  If she can work on those elements and fine-tune her sound, she will have a successful career in the music world.
